Ο πατριάρχης της Κόκα Κόλα, κατά την πρόσφατη επίσκεψη του στο άντρο του πολυεθνικού κολοσσού, είπε πολλά για να εκθειάσει τον φίλο του CEO τής Coca Cola , κ.Muhtar Kent και τα κατορθώματα του.
Είπε κολακείες και φτιασιδωμένα ψέμματα o "πράσινος" πατριάρχης, στην προσπάθεια του να ωραιοποιήσει το κτήνος.
Η αλήθεια όμως είναι άλλη:

Ποιος θα αγοράσει αυτήν την καταστροφή;
«ΤΟ ΔΟΓΜΑ ΤΟΥ ΣΟΚ - Η άνοδος του καπιταλισμού της καταστροφής», είναι ο τίτλος του καινούργιου βιβλίου (κυκλοφόρησε στις 7 Σεπτεμβρίου) της Ναόμι Κλάιν, 37 ετών, Καναδής συγγραφέως, ακτιβίστριας και δημοσιογράφου, που συνεργάζεται με τη New York Times και γράφει τακτική στήλη στη βρετανική Guardian.
Ο «καπιταλισμός της συμφοράς», εξηγεί, είναι εκείνος που στόχο έχει την εκμετάλλευση ενός κατακλυσμιαίου γεγονότος, που προκαλεί στη χώρα και στους πολίτες της ένα τεράστιο, και ενίοτε αξεπέραστο σοκ. Μιλάμε για έναν πόλεμο, μια μεγάλη φυσική καταστροφή (όπως οι πρόσφατες πυρκαγιές στη χώρα μας), μια τρομοκρατική επίθεση, κ.λπ. Ο καπιταλισμός αυτός, κατά τη Ναόμι Κλάιν, «χρησιμοποιεί» - εκμεταλλεύεται την κατάσταση πλήρους αποπροσανατολισμού, που υπάρχει στον πληθυσμό, και που ακολουθεί πάντα ένα τέτοιο γεγονός. Η απρόσμενη συμφορά ανοίγει ένα πολύ βολικό παράθυρο για να προωθηθούν πολιτικές που δεν μπορούσε το κράτος να προωθήσει υπό φυσιολογικές συνθήκες.
«ΣΤΟ ΠΙΟ ΧΑΟΤΙΚΟ σταυροδρόμι του εμφυλίου πολέμου στο Ιράκ, ένας καινούργιος νόμος εμφανίζεται ξαφνικά και επιτρέπει στις εταιρείες Shell και ΒΡ να διεκδικήσουν τα τεράστια αποθέματα πετρελαίου της χώρας. Αμέσως μετά τις επιθέσεις της 11ης Σεπτεμβρίου, η κυβέρνηση Μπους στα μουλωχτά εκχωρεί την "εκμετάλλευση" του "Πολέμου κατά της Τρομοκρατίας", στις εταιρείες Halliburton και Blackwater. Στη νοτιοανατολική Ασία, όταν το φοβερό τσουνάμι διέλυσε όλες τις ακτές της, τα πιο ωραία κομμάτια, εκείνα που λέμε φιλέτα, εκποιήθηκαν σε τουριστικές επιχειρήσεις, που κιόλας τις μετέτρεψαν σε... μαγευτικά θέρετρα. Και τέλος, οι κάτοικοι της Νέας Ορλεάνης, ακόμα σκορπισμένοι σε διάφορες άκρες της Αμερικής εξαιτίας των καταστροφών που προκλήθηκαν εκεί από τον τυφώνα "Κατρίνα", ανακαλύπτουν τώρα με έκπληξη πως ό,τι είχε σχέση με κοινωφελείς υπηρεσίες, όπως οικιστικά συγκροτήματα, δημόσια και δημοτικά νοσοκομεία και σχολεία, δεν πρόκειται ποτέ ξανά να λειτουργήσουν. Θα αξιοποιηθούν, τους είπαν, αλλιώς...». Η ΚΛΑΪΝ ταξίδεψε πρόσφατα στη Σρι Λάνκα. Εκεί, συναντήθηκε και με φίλους της, ακτιβιστές, από τους οποίους έμαθε πως το τσουνάμι έπαιξε έναν τέτοιον, ακριβώς, ρόλο στη χώρα τους. Δηλαδή, τον ρόλο «της καπιταλιστικής συμφοράς». Συγκεκριμένα, η κυβέρνηση, εκμεταλλευόμενη το γεγονός ότι το τεράστιο παλιρροϊκό κύμα «καθάρισε» μερικές από τις πιο ωραίες ακτές, προχώρησε άμεσα στην εκχώρηση πολλών παραλιακών εκτάσεων σε ντόπια και ξένα επιχειρηματικά συγκροτήματα, που πίεζαν καιρό για να τα αξιοποιήσουν οικιστικώς, τουριστικώς, αλλά και για αλιεία. Η κυβέρνηση, πριν από το τσουνάμι, δεν τολμούσε να προχωρήσει σ' αυτήν την πολιτική της επιθυμία, γιατί ήταν πολύ έντονη η αντίδραση των τοπικών κοινωνιών, τα ψαροχώρια των οποίων ζούσαν μόνο από την εκμετάλλευση της αλιείας και της καλλιέργειας μερικών αγροτικών προϊόντων εκεί. ΜΠΟΡΕΙ, ΛΕΕΙ η Ναόμι Κλάιν, οι μικρές αυτές κοινωνίες να μη συνεισέφεραν σημαντική οικονομική βοήθεια στο κράτος, που ασφαλώς και θα επωφεληθεί από την αξιοποίηση των περιοχών, αλλά η διατήρηση της συνεκτικότητας και της φτωχής, αλλά αξιοπρεπούς ζωής των κατοίκων είναι μεγέθη που δεν μπορούν να αντισταθμιστούν με το γνωστό «επιχειρηματικό μοντέλο ανάπτυξης», που σπάνια αφήνει κάτι και στους ντόπιους - αντίθετα, τους αλλοτριώνει και τους εξαφανίζει. Η Κλάιν έγινε γνωστή σε όλο τον κόσμο από το βιβλίο της Νο Logo, που θεωρείται «το μανιφέστο του κινήματος εναντίον της παγκοσμιοποίησης», και που κυκλοφόρησε τον Δεκέμβριο του 1999, τις μέρες που γίνονταν στο Σιάτλ οι πρώτες μεγάλες διαδηλώσεις εναντίον του Παγκόσμιου Οργανισμού Εμπορίου. Οι επικριτές της συχνά τη χλευάζουν. «Ταξιδεύει πρώτη θέση με τα αεροπλάνα, πάντα με ένα ακριβό λάπτοτ στα γόνατα, φοράει ρούχα με ονομαστή προέλευση και πληρώνεται αδρά γράφοντας άρθρα σε εφημερίδες εναντίον της παγκοσμιοποίησης», σημείωνε πριν από περίπου ένα χρόνο ο Economist. In the excitement over the unfolding of his scientific and technical powers, modern man has built a system of production that ravishes nature and a type of society that mutilates man. If only there were more and more wealth, everything else, it is thought, would fall into place. Money is considered to be all-powerful; if it could not actually buy non-material values, such as justice, harmony, beauty, or even health, it could circumvent the need for them or compensate for their loss.
The development of production and the acquisition of wealth have thus become the highest goals of the modern world in relation to which all other goals, no matter how much lipservice may still be paid to them, have come to take second place.
The highest goals require no justification; all secondary goals have finally to justify themselves in terms of the service their attainment renders to the attainment of the highest.
This is the philosophy of materialism, and it is this philosophy or metaphysic which is now being challenged by events.
There has never been a time, in any society in any part of the world, without its sages and teachers to challenge materialism and plead for a different order of priorities.
The languages have differed, the symbols have varied, yet the message has always been the same: "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all these things [the material things which you also need] shall be added unto you."
They shall be added, we are told, here on earth where we need them, not simply in an after-life beyond our imagination.
Today, however, this message reaches us not solely from the sages and saints but from the actual course of physical events. It speaks to us in the language of terrorism, genocide, breakdown, pollution, exhaustion.
We live, it seems, in a unique period of convergence. It is becoming apparent that there is not only a promise but also a threat in those astonishing words about the kingdom of God the threat that "unless you seek first the kingdom, these other things, which you also need, will cease to be available to you."

For years I keep saying that we should not be naοve and believe that in a civil war like the one that happened in the former Yugoslavia there are good guys and bad guys, since the truth is that there were a lot of times I felt very lonely or that due to my origins I was blamed to support only one side.
Kosovo has declared independence ignoring any reaction from Serbia and the reaction of the Serbians who live in Kosovo, actually the Serbians who dare still live in a country where they have been slaughtered. George W. Bush and his administration were all jolly to recognise straight away Kosovo and they are using every method to force the Europeans partners to join them in this party. How all of them are going to react now these things coming into light? They gave immunity, protection and support to some of the very same people Del Ponte named as the minds behind the crimes and they enjoy parliamentary and governmental positions in Kosovo.

"It is right to see people who consume more than they deserve shattered by a financial crisis from time to time, to suffer so that they can become more reasonable," he said.
The UN's Food and Agriculture Organisation has estimated that meat production accounts for nearly a fifth of global greenhouse gas emissions. These are generated during the production of animal feeds, for example, while ruminants, particularly cows, emit methane, which is 23 times more effective as a global warming agent than carbon dioxide. The agency has also warned that meat consumption is set to double by the middle of the century.
Having seen a civil war and the results of a civil war I believe that the blame game should be the last one to play, that the process of healing is far more important and that it is including forget and forgive. However this is where the international community failed in Yugoslavia and forgetting that all the western powers share the responsibility of this civil war, including Germany, the US administration, EU and NATO - the above are not the only ones but they definitely played the dirtiest part, but this is for another time and history - forgetting that in Yugoslavia there was not a clash of religions despite the fact that Turkey and Albania, for their own Balkan interests has tried to show; and apart from all burning hates between Serbians, Bosnians and Albanians the truth is that they all share equally the guilt for what happened and if international justice wants to be fair instead of going constantly after Serbia should check a bit more carefully what the rest did.
